About

Our Story & Mission

Born from Experience, Driven by Compassion

Habakuk Ministries was founded by directors who know the pain of losing parents and the struggles of growing up as orphans. Our mission is to be the support system we never had.

Established in 2020 as God's Love Children's Care, the organization faced immense challenges when the COVID-19 pandemic swept away donors and pushed many families into deeper poverty. In April 2024, we restructured and registered as Habakuk Ministries, renewing our commitment to the vulnerable children of Kasanja village.

Serving a population of over 2,500 people in Njeru West Ward, we focus on the most vulnerable. With only 15% of households able to support their children, we step in to provide education, healthcare, food, and clothing. We directly support 76 children, including 7 with disabilities, while our work indirectly benefits the wider community through employment and local economic support.

We believe education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. We sponsor school fees, supplies, and uniforms for vulnerable children.

Community Support

Holistic

Beyond direct child support, we empower the wider community by creating employment opportunities for boda-boda riders, food sellers, and local suppliers.

Special Needs Care

Inclusive

We are dedicated to supporting children with disabilities, providing them with the specialized attention, therapy, and resources they deserve.

Empowerment

Sustainable

We work to build self-reliance within families, offering skills training and support to help them eventually provide for their own children.

We fight hunger daily by providing nutritious meals, ensuring that no child in our community goes to bed hungry.
